Izmailov sets sights on Euro 2008

Marat Izmailov has stated he will do ‘whatever it takes’ to secure a place in Russia‘s UEFA EURO 2008 squad having returned to the team for next week’s friendly against Romania. The Sporting Lisbon midfielder last played for his country in October 2006 but has stated his intentions and feelings about his recall;

“I’m in good form and I hope to get a place in the team a year and a half after my last cap,” Izmailov added. “I am ready to help the national team and I will do whatever it takes to get to Austria and Switzerland this summer.”
